In September 2024, Wana Beverage is honored to partner with Operation Smile Vietnam, providing 10 free cleft lip and palate surgeries for underprivileged children. With a donation of 100 million VND, Wana not only helps transform appearances but also opens the door to a brighter future for these children.
Cleft Lip and Palate – A Silent Struggle for Many Children
Cleft lip and palate are among the most common congenital conditions, affecting approximately 1 in 700 newborns worldwide. These conditions not only impact facial aesthetics but also cause difficulties in eating, speaking, and breathing, sometimes leading to psychological challenges as children grow.
Smile Surgery – Transforming Lives
Fortunately, cleft lip and palate can be effectively treated through surgery. In just 45-60 minutes, a successful operation can restore a child’s smile, improve communication skills, and enhance overall health.
Among the 10 patients, there are infants under one year old as well as individuals who only received lip reconstruction surgery after turning 30. All surgeries were performed at Mỹ Thiện Dental and Maxillofacial Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City.
